The Kansas State Fair, held annually in Hutchinson, Kansas, celebrates the state’s rich agricultural heritage while offering opportunities for competition, education, and entertainment. As part of my work with the Fair, I was tasked with designing the Blue Ribbon Recipes campaign — a tribute to past winners of the Blue Ribbon Recipe competitions. This included creating recipe cards and signage to be displayed throughout the fairgrounds. The project called for creative exploration within the Fair’s existing brand, particularly utilizing their secondary color palette. I focused on incorporating the red tone to develop a campaign that felt distinct yet still aligned with the established brand identity. Following the project’s completion, I continued to explore the concept by designing extensions of the campaign that would allow the recipes to reach a broader audience outside the fairgrounds.
